Ok. It’s only our next big thing, but it’s still big. We are starting to run year long courses form next Monday; 14th January. We have been working hard to get the workshop ready with more inking areas, the new presses in place and lots of tweaks and general improvements.
Monday morning sees 13 students, who start on the first term of 15 weeks with Monoprinting, [next week Drypoint and going all the way through to etching, photo-etching and waterless lithography]. Over 30 weeks of taught sessions plus lots of access hours running right up until 2014 these students and those on the evening course version that also starts on Monday , will get the full treatment learning everything we can teach them in a year about printmaking and having lots of fun on the way.
Of course with universities turning their backs in most cases on printmaking, downsizing departments or ‘rationalising’ this could be the start of something even bigger. We already have 27 people on the reserve list for The Complete Printmaker course for next year and hope to get an even bigger list to attract enough for at least 2 courses running alongside each other again in 2014.
Printmaking is dead…. long live printmaking!!
