Thank you to all those who came to our summer print fair and print demonstrations, and a special thanks to the printmakers who had a stall.
We had a lovely day and had around 140 visitors, (which for a wet bank holiday weekend wasn’t bad at all). There were lots of lovely printed things for sale and it was good to see that even in tight financial times a number of stall holders did particularly well. Of course it is not just about sales and there was lots of people happy to get the chance to see what each other produces and exchange ideas, and contacts. I know a few links were made and plans hatched for other shows, which is great. The cakes and drinks are now consumed and the bunting that festooned the print rooms and all the way through to Cow Lane is now down until next time, (and we are considering a Christmas wayzgoose spectacular.. more details on that another time).
Particular thanks go to Jane Elliott, Martin Kochany and Elizabeth Willow for their great demonstrations on screenprinting, expressive print and letterpress on the Adana. We got another new crowd enthused about what we do and interested in coming to do more, which is what we like to see.
For some lovely pics on the wayzgoose visit Jane Elliott’s Leaf City Press Facebook page.
It was great to see us linked with Cow Lane Studios more with people milling through from Hot Bed to Cow Lane and with their studios open to visitors. We are working with Cow Lane more and more, and the Salford Open, organized by Cow Lane Studios, is due to open on 15th June. As Artistic Director of Hot Bed Press I am pleased to have been invited as one of the selectors, and Hot Bed Press are proud to be a sponsor and look forward to awarding a print prize to one lucky artist.
