We are taking over the whole of the workshop for the first 2 weeks and 3 weekends in August. As well as guest tutors our expert staff will be leading the 5 day/weekday workshops demonstrating the breadth of their knowledge and enthusiasm for printmaking. Exhibition Launch – Thurs 21st April, 6 – 8.30pm
    Exhibition continues 22nd April 11am – 4pm

We are hosting an exhibition of final year students’ work from Manchester School of Art this week and would love to see you for the preview this Thursday evening at 6pm.

Responding to the industrial past of the Casket Works, (the Victorian building which houses Hot Bed Press,) the exhibiting artists aim to stage a creative industry of their own exploring the relevance of analogue and non-digital production in the digital age.

Taking into account the heritage of both the Casket Works and the soon to be developed land in front of the building, they will explore narratives suggested by the environment and play with this ingrained history allowing for past, future and social narratives to evolve.

The exhibition is curated by Daniel Goodwin and James Mathews Hiskett

The exhibiting artists include : Anna Glinkina, Ruth Wilson, Sinead Moakes, Sam Whitham, Sarah Thomas, Clare Soutter, Sian Leyshon, Bella Jones, Sumeyah Leyden , Cerys Thorne, Alex Manning, Joanna Haworth, Kim Robinson in collaboration with Phoebe Phillips, Sarah Dean, Sarah Wakefield, Lewis Toumazou, Daniel Goodwin, James Mathews Hiskett and Abbie Harris.

Thankyou to everyone who exhibited and submitted work for this year’s Under The Bed Sale at Hot Bed Press. It’s a great opportunity for the workshop to raise funds and an equally great opportunity for our members to get their work seen and sold.

We sold over £2,000 of artwork at this year’s exhibition which will help us buy equipment for the workshop and overall it was a great success!

Thankyou to all the artists who submitted work for the sale and the print exchange, the visitors who bought work or just came along to support the event.

The exhibition of 20:20 Prints will be on show until Thursday 17th of December so please feel free to pop into the workshop and we’ll take you through to see the vast array of talented artists who took part in this year’s print exchange.

    And they are off!

The 20:20 Print Exchange has all been sorted by our fantastic team and in record time. The lovely boxes have been winging their way to workshops all over the UK and Ireland with the biggest journey to The Icelandic Printmakers Association in Reykjavik.

We are receiving messages from workshops as they arrive with lovely comments, (such as… Thank you again for another year of amazing prints – it’s like Christmas morning when they come! We love being part of this project, it’s another great way to be part of the global printmaking community. Jessica Tobin, Manager, Leinster Printmakers)

We will be having our launch at our annual Under-The-Bed Sale on Friday 4th December between 5pm and 9pm & Saturday 5th December between 11am and 6pm when we will also be selling of last years number 1’s of each edition to raise funds for Hot Bed Press. There are only 1 of each print available so when they are gone they are gone.

Another fantastic exhibition under our belts and a huge thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who helped make it happen. The weekend was a great success and alongside good sales of members work we also managed to build a working print studio for the 4 days of the show and give demonstrations in a number of print techniques.

If you came down to see the show or a demonstration, a big thanks to you and hope you had a great time! Next up we have the Manchester Artist Book Fair on the 16th and 17th October. More on this to follow. Hope to see you there!
