There are still a couple of places left on Justin Sander’s upcoming course:

Viscosity Printing

Saturday 8th-Sunday 9th December
11am-5pm
ÂŁ125 (ÂŁ105) for members.

Surely just the thing in the run up to Christmas to give you a welcome break from buying and making presents, wrapping presents, losing presents, finding presents, posting presents… well, you get the picture, I’m sure. A relaxing weekend spent on this delightful technique should leave you ready to face the festive season on top form.

Viscosity printing is the fine art – in this case using etching plates – of printing in 2-3 colours by utilising different thicknesses of ink and different hardnesses of rollers to pick up the depths of the plate or plates. Along the way you will be shown how to make your own inks from powder pigments (how cool is that?) and given some insight into the difference between various producers’ inks and why it matters.

We will also use plates that have already been etched, which should highlight just what a difference viscosity printing can make to your printing. We have a stash of plates here but please do bring your own if you wish.

Justin is, as many of you know, an informative and sympathetic tutor – his courses are always very enjoyable. If you would like any more information or would like to book a place, please get in touch with Sean or Andy at the office, or send a message via the course page.

Best wishes
Sean
