Membership is open to everyone *. Several different schemes are available for the complete beginner to the experienced printmaker. For anyone using the printmaking facilities the cost is just £2.00 per hour. Specialist materials are sold on site. Members purchase a Studio Hire Card for £20.00, (i.e. 10 hours use), and a Materials Voucher for £10.00 in advance. All materials are reasonably priced to encourage more printmaking at an affordable rate.

We are undoubtedly one of the cheapest print workshops in the UK.

*For health and safety reasons members have to be above the age of sixteen.

Trial Membership

For anyone who wants to try out being a member of Hot Bed Press, without the commitment of a full year, we offer Trial Membership for 3 months. It is also suitable for teachers and full time students who wish to make use of Summer and Easter holidays to have access to print facilities. You get all the benefits of Print Membership, (except concessions on courses) and it costs just £20 for 3 months

Once your trial membership is due for renewal you will have the opportunity to rejoin as a full Print member on a standing order from you bank of just £5 a month working out at just £60 for a full year giving you access to our full workshop and equipment.

Print Membership

This is our standard membership. It is for anyone wishing to use our print facilities, and includes access to the workshop 5 days a week during open access times, exhibition opportunities, a monthly e-bulletins and regular updates, a reduction on all Hot Bed Press courses plus other events such as monthly Saturday and Wednesday evening print sessions, and all Bookstars events. The cost is £60 per year (Standing Order) or (£48 concessionary) 

Keyholder Membership

We also have a small number of keyholders, who have access 24 hours, 7 days a week. With all the benefits of Print Membership but more convenience. This is for the serious printmaker. Keyholders are usually long standing members who want more access. However experienced printmakers may apply to become Keyholder Members. cost £45 per month (There is no hourly charge for keyholders. Usage is free!)

Regular User 

new membership type!

We have just arranged a new type of membership/usage at Hot Bed Press. This is in response to a number of requests for a more cost effective way of paying for studio usage. Not content with being the cheapest open access print studio in the country at £2.00 an hour, we are now offering unlimited access during open access times.

This new regular user strand of membership costs £45 a month and is paid for by standing order. Those wishing to apply for it must commit to 6 months usage at a time, but that entitles you to as many hours as you can fit in in regular open times.

We are running this on a provisional basis and will review this at the end of the year, but we think that it will be a worthwhile way of using the studio for a number of members.

Associate Membership

For those who do not need access to the print equipment, but who wish to take part in our exhibitions, to receive regular updates and get concessions on courses as well as other events and opportunities. [This type of membership also entitles you to be part of Hot Bed Bookstars, who meet once a month at the studio to work on bookmaking as a collective group and look at exhibitiing together and much more.]
