About the course:

Mezzotint achieves tonality by roughening the plate with thousands of little dots made by a mezzotint rocker. The rocked plate produces a deep black when printed. The image is burnished back with special tools to bring the image out from the black. A high level of tone and richness in the print makes this a beautiful and alluring technique.
