About the course:

This fascinating process may be thought of as etching on fabric. It is most usually used on specially woven mixed fibres. A design can be screen-printed or the paste can be applied freehand. Once dry it is then ironed or baked. The paste burns the cellulose fibres and when they are rubbed out of the fabric it leaves thin areas where the cellulose was. The results are subtle, with beautiful colours.
