4 evenings Course
Starting: Wednesday 3rd May 2017
Ending: Wednesday 24th May 2017
From: 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Tutor: Martin Kochany
About the course:
Bring textural marks and tonal qualities to relief printing by etching lino with caustic soda. You can add fluid gestural marks and fine hand cut stencil masks to create stunning prints. This really brings a new dimension to relief printing adding to the range of mark-making and offering a tonal quality not available with the more straightforward hand cutting techniques.
Martin will inspire with his own incredible prints, showing you the etched lino blocks used to create them. He will also show you how to combine etched lino with more traditional cutting techniques, broadening your mark-making vocabulary.
Martin is one of our on-site experts…Technicians. As well as teaching at Hot Bed Press for many years he has been guest tutor at various other print workshops, such as The Bluecoat in Liverpool, and West Yorkshire Print Workshop.
