A word for our sponsors
We are very pleased to have the support of Intaglio Printmaker, Ratchford, Screenstretch and now Turners of Stockport, who all support our courses through materials and equipment, which has boosted the quality and quantity of materials we offer free as part of all our courses.
To have these four well known companies supporting us is a great boost to Hot Bed Press and brings a kudos with it that recognizes our role in supporting printmakers and book artists both in the region and nationally.
We now have between 300 and 400 people attending our courses throughout the year, with around 50 weekend and evening courses now scheduled annually. We also welcome groups of students and community to our workshop and run outreach workshops for schools and colleges.
Supporting Printmaking and Book Arts
As well as supporting our education programme with their lovely materials, Ratchfords have generously offered to support a residency scheme in book arts at Hot Bed Press, which started in January 2010.
Our first resident book artists selected from the 5th Manchester Artists Book Fair were Sophie, Caitlin and Libby from Parlour Press, who were resident between January and July 2011. In January 2012 we welcomed Elizabeth Willow to the workshop for her 6 months residence. Elizabeth’s work was unanimously selected from the 7th Manchester Artists’ Book Fair, and Elizabeth has been coming in to work with our letterpress facility and has now learned a little about screenprinting to take into her book arts. We will be supporting Elizabeth with a show of work produced at hot Bed Press and hope that we can support and promote her lovely work even more after the residency ends at the end of July.
Thanks to Rathchfords for their continued support of this.
